RV8 Distributor oil feed

Post by nigelv8 »

Hi

Just started building up a 3.9 engine and am looking at doing the oil feed mod to improve lubrication to the distributor.

Have removed the bolt from the bottom of the oil cover to drill out and tap to take a banjo bolt. However having looked at it I think its going to leave the bolt too thin.

Has anyone else done this and if so how have you done it? Can you get replacement bolts so I could have a play with no fear. (Have tried some hardware stores and they have said they can't get them)

Have even tried JE Engineering who no longer have the parts.

Any ideas?

They didn't do the car I always promised myself, so I built it myself!

Hi. I used parts from a t3 turbo oil feed together with a cossie 4x4 oilpipe. The connector has a 1/8 ntp thread which is small enough to be drilled and tapped into the cover bolt. I used the same type of connector at the dizzy drive end with a restrictorwelded in to control flow.

If you have the Rover / Land Rover part number, try Rimmer Bros.
