good new eh Pel,
still a lot of work to be done though,
new axle mounts to fab, axle brace bars to make and order rose joints,
then i can order the prop, im looking around mid/end march to be back on the road,

still ok to send the fuel pulsoid up for the overhaul?
you want the nitrous one too to check over mate?
started rewiring the nitrous system back in the car until i can afford to do the charger, think 75 shot will be fine for this year, unless i get hungry and slowly start creeping it up again

If I were you...I'd be using poly bushes or rubber in place of rose joints.

The noise transmitted into the car via my rose jointed rear end is the single most annoying thing I ever did to my car.

A bit of an update,
been let down by an engineering company that are making some parts for the mounting kit for the axle,
they hope to have it done for this coming weekend, we shall see,
so not much to report, a few pics though,

Image
I removed the UNC american bolts in the bearing housings, and replaced with 12.9 grade 10mm metric allen bolts with the heads turned down in the lathe, these are a nice snug fit in the bearing housing holes with no slack like with the unc american bolts,

Image
The start of the new axle mounting kit,

Image
Trial fit to see if i have removed enough material to sit the mount snug on the axle tubes,

Image
And we all know how the capri axle cover leaks,
So made my own version of the capri diff cover plates for the Mustang axle,
Made from stainless steel plate and stainless bolts,

Hope you like more to follow.

Hi
Finally decided to take the plunge and I will be off to ARR next saturday and drop off my axel, will be off to pick up some centre lines this saturday so I now know what to ask for length wise (actually I intend telling them what I have and let them work it out I just have to clean the bearings for the pinion support and refit them.
Best regards

Tony,
when you weld the spring perches on, make sure the ales is the right way up. Last year my son decided he would tack the anglia axle to his Mk1 escort perches, I thought I would offer the axle up for him, just to check, Looked good so I ramped the welder up and welded it nicely to the perches, took me about an hour to realise the breather was under the axle!!!!!
