What fuel filter in 10mm fuel line before RV8 SU carbs?

I've just fitted an electric fuel pump underneath my V8 Rover P6, retaining the reserve tap. I've run 8mm nylon fuel line underneath the car and up into the engine bay, which then becomes ID 10mm rubber fuel hose along the top of the engine, under the driver side carb and across the intake manifold to the front of the passenger side carb. I want to fit a fuel filter just before the carb. I was going to use my old glass and metal one, which has the right size in and out fittings, but my experienced older mechanic mate reckons they come unstuck with age and leak, and warned me off.
Can anybody suggest a nice transparent fuel filter that will fit the ID 10mm hose? The motor factors here only have 8mm in and out fittings Hengst filters, and my old AC Delco plastic filters also have too small in and out fittings.
