Does the hotwire have a feed for the oil pressure switch?

Post by Gibson »

As above, does the hotwire injection system have a feed to the oil pressure switch to prevent it starting without oil pressure? Im chasing a fault on mine thats stopping it fuelling and this was one of the things i thought of.
Also will the engine fire without the Throttle position switch plugged in? the plugs on mine are different and i havnt cut and soldered them together yet....

I don't think so. There's no oil pressure switch shown in my diagram. Some older carb engines did, though.

Have to got the right connection with in-line resistor to the coil? It won't fuel with no spark, or tach signal.

That was my other line of reasoning. i had the feed from the negative on the coil plugged into a white/black wire on the loom and nothing was happening. So i read up a bit and realised two things.

1- the white black i need should be near the throttle position sensor wiring. not the alternator wiring as i have it plugged into.

2- I didnt have the inline resistor fitted.

Now im hoping i have plugged the negative coil feed into the feed for the tachometer because if i havnt there is a chance ive blown up my ECU without the resistor right?

oh and i cant find a white/black wire around the thottle position senor wiring..... wierd. oh and i have now put an appropriate resistor in.....
