Hi Paul
even ford mustangs as loverly as that have brake fluid in them that needs changing places to skin your knuckles and rust that has to be cut out and replaced to get them to look like that. I work in the glamerous world of TV. . . people dream of working in this industry I'm told. As far as I'm concerned it is full of idiots and lovie To55ers that should have been put down at birth!
ho hum
hobbies are what it is all about.
Best regards

poppet valves rule!
Thanks fellas. I must admit it's a nice job to have and seeing as it's my company I have nobody to answer too other than my customers. But the problem is this. I work from 8am until between 5 - 7pm, then after a meal and seeing the children to bed i'm on the computer ordering parts from the U.S normally until midnight.
An example of my day would be today. I've been stood under a 65 Mustang fastback most of the day f**king about with a Rack & pinion conversion that will not play ball. Now i'm sat in front of the laptop chatting on here and working, still it pays the bills and I love it.
Here's my website to see some other projects i've done. www.philsworkshop.co.uk
Thanks again
Phil

Nice cool car, and the engines look mighty fine and i hope my 347 will look that good. I had my perfect job, driving around europe for 2 weeks then 2 days in england and back to europe, for a single person it was great. So how many times have been asked to do a Eleanor rich.

Hi Phil
Some awesome looking cars on your website.
I understand what you mean about you answer to no one but the customer.
I too run my own business and when it goes well nothing is better but.........
Your car is fantastic and I would still love to do your job rather than working on poxy boats.
Cheers

I also worked in TV all my life - I'm retired now - and couldn't have chosen a better career. I'm a sound engineer, and my best time by far was at Thames TV in the 70s to 90s. Great bunch of workmates. Of course now it's mainly freelance, that camaraderie is much reduced. Blame Thatcher for that as so much else.kiwicar wrote:Hi Paul

Much as I like cars and working on them, it's not a career I'd want. In general the retail motor industry has more sharks per square foot than any other.

Hi Dave
I think you got out at a good time, there are far fewer people in this industry now that actually know anything about it, there are times that as an engineer (Satallite) I am made to feel I have two heads and leperousy it has gone very strange over the last 5 years.
Hi Paul,
When I get the chassis I will give you a call If I may and have a chat.
Best regards
