large bore plenum

Post by mgrv8 »

:?:
I have just got hold of a 71mm plenum for my project mgbv8 , its going to be a 5lt rv8 engine with hotwire system {ive got a tvr 5.0lt 14cux ecu and im going to use lamda sensors} .....
My question is can i use this plenum without going for a remapable ecu?? i was going to use this to get running and see how it works, and maybe latter go for megasquirt or sim system . Have any of you out there used a big bore plenum without changing ecu etc,...... thanks

Yes its been used with the Lucas many times, the AFM should adapt to it, IIRC the only problem it can throw up is if your TPS is misaligned or tracking badly?

Should be fine.

If you were using a Lucas flapper you'd want to fit a Jaguar airflowmeter to go with it, but with hotwire it should just be a bolt-on upgrade, as long as the throttle pot transfers straight over.
No substitute for cubic inches
