Im no longer in a rush to get the car finished, lifes to short to get stressed over a car build....as for yellow...mmm

mine (if I do go this route) will be 100% barn find / DIY so im probably looking at a nice rust / corroded alloy look

I understand where you are coming from......but between petrol costs etc for testing....
It will likely work out cheaper in the long run to buy a carb that is already almost setup for your application.
Often, trying to save money, can cost you in the long run. Believe me, Ive thew away thousands over the years.
That said, if you want a 465SP that I was using, its still here lol. It has a plenum already made for it. Maybe not the neatest in the world, but it works fine.
Car would obviously require re-jetting etc to suit.
it was a 465 vac carb, that I fitted the 600DP fuel bowls to. It ended up as a 465 SP, with a larger 50cc pump jet.
