Trumpet needs resticking in - what to use ?

Post by Nigel B »

Hi all,

MAy seem a simple Q (well it is only if you know the answer  ) but yesterday started the huge clean up of the JED 5.2 engine due to be rebuilt.

The trumpet base has ali trumpets, which many sadly were damged, after 2 hours which dollies, sandbags and panel hammers and holding breath all was better, but one of the trumpets was loose, so it was removed and clean etc

http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?app=c ... h_id=32171

Q is what is the best stuff to stick this back in with, for the sake of a Q here I know I'll be able to refit and forget it if I use the righ stuff ?

I have Wurth Stud Lock, and Loctite 270 and 243 ? or, as I am thinking - is there something more suitable ?

Ta Muchly

Nige

RTV (room temp vulcanising) RED silicone will do it too.
