remote oil filter
Does anyone know of a car that has a remote oil filter as standard? I've hit a few budget issues and need to keep costs down. If i can get one from the breakers that would help.
Cheers

Think Automotive for about £23 for the remote filter unit

You may also want a take off unit and some pipes - they are good on all 3
Sorry don't know of a remote filter on production car

Yes it does, I commented on it to the owner of a car I was looking at at Harpenden Classics On The Common this afternoon.harvey wrote:MGB V8 had one IIRC. (Although that could hardly be called a "production" car nowadays.)Ian Anderson wrote: Sorry don't know of a remote filter on production car

Re: remote oil filter
My BMW E39 528 does - so I'd guess most 6 cylinder BMWs of that era. Takes a filter element so cheap to replace.redsunbeam wrote:Does anyone know of a car that has a remote oil filter as standard? Unless you were looking for a complete kit for a particular engine?

Mine vary from 4-10 quid depending on make. Will Reeve wrote:I think most BMW's from around 1995 have remote filters. My E39V8 does and it's quite a nice sized filter with a plastic screw on top! Although the filter isn't cheap it's easer to change!

It's a '97 528. Phone Eurocarparts for a price - they'll get BMW parts their site doesn't list at good prices.redsunbeam wrote:I bought a take off plate some time ago, but now need a cheap remote head and pipes.
