Sorry to hear your bad news, what width of axle and ratio do you need? I'll check out the Volvo axles.
I'm afraid those lowering blocks are to blame as they increase the leverage under torque reaction.
Kevin.
Thats why parabolic MGB spring go weak as well Kev!! Folk lower them and they bend.
Ian!!
Will that 2 litre toyota axle take V8 power ok??

you could look for a 4ha Scimitar axle. They aren't LSD but you can convert them using parts from Jags. They aren't hard to get and come in 2 widths, the series 5 and series 6, the 5 being narrower.
someone else said to me about the Scimitar axle mate
they have the 4 link (or similar) set up brackets on them already dont they
do you know the widths off hand?
will have to get the shafts re drilled to suit my wheels too/
yes they are 4 link and have a watts linkage for central location. I will give you the width of the 5 tonight as I am heading down the garage today anyway. The wheel flanges are separate from the shafts so either easy to re-drill or get new ones. They are on with a taper so no fancy splines need cutting. Think I said before that I didn't have to bother as I found wheel blanks and got them drilled to suit the hubs. Fitting the ford rear disks and callipers is already a well used path as well.
Heres my Retro Show Half shafts
The black mark on the bottom one is from using it to stoke the fire on Saturday night as we needed a poker
