No fuel hotwire
Hi everybody.
Just fitted hotwire system to my stag(was running flapper)
I have spark at plugs the fuel pump primes for three seconds
all wires connected as per sticky. No fuel getting to plugs (still dry)
Fuel pipes are the right way round.Any one know a mobile mechanic
in the southend on sea area cos i`m at the end of my tether,
cheers for reading Martin.

I had the same problem and it was because I had supplied +12v to ECU instead of grounding pins controilling injectors. PM me if you want a complete 14CUX hotwire ECU pin out list and wiring diagram. I also have proper land Rover EFI test manual if you want it too.

When you crank the engine does the fuel pump start running again?
If not the black wire from the air flow meter to coil needs connected

There is also a black wire - may have a white trace - sorry cannot remember for sure
This wire comes from the connector at the air flow meter and should be connected to the coil.
This picks up the coil pulses and tells the ecu the motor is turning
Without this wire it will not run

Hi Ian
i have 4 wires going to airflow sensor brown with orange bands , red with black bands , blue with green bands , blue with red bands. The white wire with black bands is in the same part of the loom with a male lucar connector
Just tested the wire white with black rings i am getting current right back to the ecu .
thanks Martin

I had stripped down my Land Rover loom and shortened it so I have a complete list of wire colours from / to pins and their uses. It was not just a case of earthing a brown wire as I had a wire wrong.EFI Stag wrote:Hi Richard,
i am a bit confused I thought brown wire went to battery live ?
cheers for replying Martin
I found this out by short-circuiting the injector circuit and firing the injectors manually (and smelling petrol) so I knew they worked so it was the wiring that was wrong. Plus I checked out the ECU in a friend's car so that worked too.
When you press the pressure releif valve in the injector rail, is there fuel? If not, then you're not pumping anything.
Finally, in the Land Rover loom there are several connectors to the outside world that are not really used (or need not be). I removed them when I re-wired my loom.
Offer still stands.
Richard.
