Car went on the rollers today, the guy couldn't find anything else to change that I hadn't already done, mixture and timing were pretty much spot on

Made 368BHP at the crank and 330BHP at the wheels!!! - oh, at 7k

Torque was 276ftlb

So I was amazed! I was genuinely expecting 100bhp less, the graph shows NO curve whatsoever, power is just a straight line all they way up! Best torque is between approx 4&6k so I'll never have to use all the revs, just as well as it is a stock bottom end so wont see that high rpm when I'm driving it!

That is one serious power curve (or as you point out straight line) to get it that straight you have built a very well balanced and matched set of parts and they produce very good power. What boost are you running? 8psi? if so then the base build without the blower must be worth over 235 ish which is a hell of allot for a rover in road spec. Well done!

It is a 4l Ian, and Mike it is running about 7psi boost- tbh I dont really look at the boost gauge when pedal is to the metal- too busy looking ahead!

hmmm, have to seriously consider going big bore in the dragster now, just that could get us to 500hp with the same boost we run now. Great job Tom the 11's are waiting.

Dont want to spoil anything here but that curve is too straight.

According to that curve your engine was still continuing to make power at 7k when reason would have it that a Rover with all it's limitations should be well past it.

With a blower motor I'd be expecting to see a much flatter torque curve.

Also at 7psi you could expect a max of 45% more power than a N/A engine therefore you'd need to be pulling 253bhp in N/A form to hit the figures shown above.

I'd be asking a few questions of the people who did the power run before being quite so happy with the result

......of course I'm usually wrong
