Fuel Pump
I may be swapping my 2.9 V6 Cologne, for a RV8 in the near future.
The fuel pump is from a Granada.
Will this pump sufficient fuel for a V8 or will I need a Red top or the like?
Cheers

EfI uses high pressure, carbs low. Dunno if you can adapt a high pressure one for carbs - but high pressure pumps are more expensive so it would probably make sense to convert to a proper carb one.Chorlton wrote:Thanks Kevin

Chorlton,
The Facet Red Top is said to be able to provide sufficient flow for a 240 BHP engine and is what i have fitted at the moment, I can't remember exactly what pressure it runs at but I think it is in the region of 7psi so a regulator should be used to reduce pressure to suit the edelbrock.
Perry mentions 5 psi as the limit but although I have a regulator it is not yet plumbed in so am running more pressure than advised but this is not as yet causing a problem and as my engine is in the region of 260 + BHP I did not want it to lean out at the top end on WOT.
It is important to set the float heights correctly as per the book and obviously the carb will need calibrating for your engine spec.
Good price fom here, states 6-8 psi.
