vacuum check

Hi all, i need to check the vacuum on a edelbrock 500, ive got the gauge but what port does it go on. The 1 on the left or the right as you look from the front of it. :? rich

I think the one on the right is the one you want, since this is the 'raw' manifold vacuum connection. The left one is the 'timed' port for vac advance, and will deliver no vacuum at idle.
