The hardpart is finding an engine that will fit transversley in my engine bay and still provide me with over 350hp and 300Lbs torque, any ideas would be greatly appreciated cause all i can find at the moment that is guarenteed to fit is the Taurus V8SHO but that is only rated to 290 bhp

Hi
as I put in another post, the jag V8 seems to be the same basic engine, as the taurus and therefore also of the same origin (and presumably bell housing bolt pattern) as the ford 4 cam V6 you see in 2.5 and 3 litre form in Europe (where you will have to fing your transverse gearbox. I think the 4.2 V8 in the XKR is rated somewhere in the region of 420-450 bhp. Some versions of the 3.2 and 3.6 are also supercharged, a bit of E-bay engineering I would recon you could get the power you want from a veriety of displacments.
Best regards
Mike

There was a transverse RV8 Mini in the limelight last year or so. He didnt even have a bonnet bulge. I think he used a Princess auto box though. A bloke from Hollands wasnt it??

Spag, who used to post on here, I think did the original one http://www.spagweb.com/v8mini/doris/index.htm
a guy in Finland did one also but he lengthened the engine bay by about 4" and hid the radiator in the boot, that one was quite subtle.
Best regards
