Forum Down Time

sorry for the down time this evening,
for some reason we had a bug in the system,

all sorted now thanks to some emails between Bill and myself talking me through what to do,

Tony,

Have only just been able to log in, kept getting a fatal arror message.

For the last week the site has been incredibly slow to load, just an observation and not a complaint and most grateful for your endeavors in keeping the site up and running, it's a great asset to us all.

please anyone let us know in here if you get problems,
sometimes we maybe able to sort it before it turns into a major downtime

yes the fatal error message was the problem mate,
now sorted, it happened a while back, and Bill has informed me its a common fault with php.

but we will soldier on,

It seems to be a fault that happens with the board software, it's quite a well-known thing it seems. I'm not sure if it'd have anything to do with overall speed, but it is possible that it's related.

Sorry for the downtime,
had problem with table layout on the server again,
as Bill says seems to be a common problem with this style of board,
But we now know the fix to get us back up ASAP.

Sorry about the downtime AGAIN this evening,
with the server being hacked earlier today and putting us offline,
and now vortech having server probs im just about ready to f***** explode.
all i can do is appologise as this is not down to us yet again.

im monitoring the server at vortech closely,
have mailed them twice and awaiting an excuse/reason for the problems.

I think the database server (separate machine) was offline for whatever reason. Maybe being patched, or possibly the network is under a flood of attacks again - the hacks are prob automated mass attacks.

best we brace are selves for more hacks and downtime then mate

took a while to dload the v8 db, 84.7MB

Sorry about the forum being offline over night,
this was due to a fault with vortech, what ever it was it took there site and support site offline too so had no way of contacting them,
Im now trying to get to the bottom of what happened to make sure it dont happen again, (i hope)

once again sorry but was out of my control......
