Crankshaft pulley

Post by adamnreeves »

Does anyone know what crankshaft pulley I need for my RV8 4.6, so long nose crank. I am using an intermediate serpentine timing cover. As I am building a westfield I do not need to drive any auxiliary items such as PAS, aircon, etc.

I do not think I need a damper as later engines are internally balanced aren't they?

I do have the crankshaft spacer from RPI already.

I would imagine to get everything to line up properly your best bet would be the intermediate serp pulley. I think this setup has unique spacing but to be honest I am not completely certain on that.

you need a damper on a v8, even if it is a nutral ballanced one or the crank will resonaye and snap.

Oh, I guess the damper is balanced also. I was wonder how you could use a pre-balanced damper without having it balanced to the particular engine it is being installed on. I thnk for my engine the damper and pulley is a single unit. Thanks for the clarification.
