"M18 as I said at the beginning (for the interim covers), preferred solution is an M18-NPT adapter so you can either plug or use for temp/pressure senders." is a load of old tosh, so don't take any notice of it! - it is M20, but the use of NPT adapters is still valid ;)

All the serp TVRs (all interim) came as standard with the side one blocked and the bottom one with the pressure sender. I think I know of a couple of owners with blanking plugs left over after adding temp sender adapters if you get stuck. TBH its probably cheaper to get a suitable M18 plug from a local hydraulics place though.

I've just measured the threads on my interim front cover. M20 x 1.5.

Seems to be some confusion about the size of the oil cooler fitting on an interim cover. It may be that some are measuring the inside of the hole and others are measuring the outside of the bung/pipe fitting.
The thread should be based on the bung size which I believe is M20x1.5.

Yeah. I agree with your sizing at M20x1.5

It is definitely M20x1.5, ignore everything I said unless you are looking for the adapter to plug / sensor the stepper motor. I must pay more attention to crossing out and underlining (multiple choice was never my forte).

I shall humbly edit all the posts above just to make sure their is no confusion as a penance;)

Both oil cooler ports on the timing cover are M20 x 1.5 pitch definitely Wink

I stuck one of my stamped sample bolts in a cover I have off at the moment.

Is the length crucial and normal hex head?

If you can wait until the morning I'll give you the dimensions of the plugs that are fitted in the cover & yeah I know I'm an old git.:lol:

As promised. The section of the O-Ring is 1.5mm & the thread has a 30 degree x 4mm chamfer. The text isn't very clear but the small diameter should read dia 11.8 x 5 long.

That looks like a proper OE type jobbie- can I not just fit a couple of shortish blanks (bolt types) with dowty washers? Sorry Ged I'm probably making you cringe :lol:
