Hi
I have a RV8 in my tr7.
Im trying to remove the oil filler extension that is on my rocker cover.
Do these unscrew?
Im having real difficulty getting it off and its too high to stay on and fit under my bonnet.
I think the rocker covers are of a rover sd1.
Thanks in advance

The ally fillers do unscrew. But they may be stuck on with thread locker.
Stick in in the oven at gas mark 6 for 10 mins and it may well loosen off the glue so you can unscrew it with some pump pliers!
Also make sure to stick in a part baked baguette as it will be done at the same time as the rocker cover so you can have a bacon crusty just after you get the filler tube out

Hi Chris,
it should just unscrew, its got the same thread as the filler cap.
I used my rocker covers with the orange cap stripped and polished up, i needed to remove the lower plain section on the cap. rocker cover hole was not as deep as the extension.
i hope this is some help
regards
Andy

Chris,
You can just switch the rocker covers side to side if you have the filler at the front as there is usually more head room at the rear of the engine.
If you do remove the filler extension you will have to trim the plain bottom part of the screw in cap off or it can foul on the rockers, also as Perry said you can remove the plastic cover on the cap and polish it up if you want a bit of bling.
