A disco autobox won't be much good for a trike as it's quite a lot of effort to change it from 4WD to 2WD. You'd be better getting a 2WD box and changing the bellhousing to fit the V8.
Or get an LDV 4HP22 from a V8 ambulance / riot van etc which is perfect!

No idea what the GM .... is. Any pics?

Chris.

Look at Opel/Vauxhall sites.
2.0/2.2 Carlton.....2.0 Cavalier/Manta all rwd cars and all ran the GM180 autobox.
Possibly a Senator auto is a GM180 as well.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Only the later SD1's had the GM180, all P6B's had either a BW35 or 65.

Most GM boxes have a cast in bell housing, the Borg-Warners have detachable bell housing. Strongest is the BW65 as fitted to Jags, just swap the bell housing for a Rover. It will work great up to about 300 bhp.

hey been doing some reading on the zf4hp22 myself seems it was fitted to a few rwd cars, not sure how the gearing would suit the v8 but check here for a list of cars it was fitted to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_4HP22_transmission

from what iv read u would need the disco bell housing torque converter and flex plate and an older non electronic bmw or jag unit unless you intend to run a black box to control the electronics.

another stronger option would be the ZF4hp24 box.

I'd say a bit less than 300bhp if you want it to last, IIRC the Jag six pots that used the BW66 put out 245 bhp as an absolute maximum. (On a good day....With a following wind....Downhill..... )

Many thanks to you all for the info.

sounds like a BW for my trike then. Ive found a 3.5 motor from an 89 Disco ( no black boxes) and i will find a box without them as well .
