Many thanks to Mr Coops for keeping the site going along with all the help the other moderators put in - a thankless task I am sure but one certainly appreciated by me
Thanks again

HPN to all.
For the first time in years I spent the whole evening in doors rather than being out in the garage for a while and it was weird, had to talk to Mrs Gelmonkey! What's that all about then?
Keep doing what you do guys it gives the tree huggers something else to moan about

I just got back from Paris where we were treated to spending a couple of days there over new years- if anyone is thinking of going soon you might want to think again! We were'nt being stupid with our money and still managed to get charged in small back street cafes etc (1:1 exchange rate at the mo) £7 each for small cups of coffee, £13 for small spag bol etc, a bar of choc was nearly £5 yet you can buy bottles of wine for £1.50!! BUT- the worst thing- BEER WAS £10 A PINT
And so disappeared my will to go over for another mini break this year!!!
Went to Paris a few times years ago and it wasn't too bad. It was on the list as somewhere to take the family for a short trip - maybe not now!!
We went to Normandy last year and it was fine. A friend at work has just been to Brussels they really enjoyed it.
The euro will become the international currency of trade (~Currently the USD)
Simple
Take the number of people in USA
And take the number of people in the "Euro" countries
You will get a number approaching the 10:1 ratio with the Euro being so much bigger - so why will the USD continue to be the world trading currency?
While the "Yanks" still try to make their $ the world trading currency there will be some chance but more and more will move to the Euro - too many people have objected to paying the US bank handling fee to move money via USA so they are sigining their own death warrant (Currently it costs about $25 to move USD finds from our UK bank to China on top of our UK transfer costs -this being levied by the USA banks our small company i making about 100 such payments per month so look at the revenue earner they had!)
I had a 2 week holiday in Mauritius over Xmas and found it amazing that they tend to print most prices in MRU (Mauritian Rupees) and Euro - this for an island miles from anywhere in the Indian Ocean - closest neighbour Madagascar!
A colleague at work spent a long weekenf in Paris in early December and was likewise shocked at how expensive the city had become - she said a simple meal ended up at about £50 per head equivalent.
So what to do?
1) Avoid Paris if you can although the rest of Euro Zone is also expensive due to the Euro exchange rate - I predict the Euro will get stronger this year
2) Save your Money and visit a thirld world country - you have some chance of getting a reasonable price (Is the USA considered a 3rd world country?)
3) Use your strength and Vote for a sensible government during 2010
Other than that Enjoy 2010 and remember V8 is the way to go
