Flywheel fitting rv8 sd1 lt77 manual

Post by bullyboy »

Hi i am putting an sd1 flywheel onto a late rv8 4.6.
My flywheel has six bolt holes which seem to match the crank but the crank has a dowel as well which fits between 2 of the holes.
Can i remove the dowel?
Or do i need to drill the flywheel?
Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hi,

I agree would be better to drill the fly wheel BUT i've just done the same, fitting an SD1 flywheel to a 4.6 and I removed the dowel. That's what RPI do.

Found it best to drill and tap the dowl to pull it out. It's quite a tight fit
