rpi power plenum
Hello all,
was looking on the rpi site and saw mention of the "Power Plenum" from what i can see is this simply a remote filter arrangement? None of the pics on their page show the underneath so i'm assuming that there's something clever going on? does anyone have one? They're quite pricey at over £100

I dont know how they recon you get near fuel injected performance by fitting a bucket with a hole in over your 4bbl, would have thought a normal 14" round filter would offer far less restriction! Cold air feed is a good point Kevin though a lot of people put vents of some kind in with a 4bbl kind of setup anyway..?!

Summiit Racing do this very nicely made cold air induction Kit, not cheap but looks like value for money.

what a load of bull! changing your airfilter doesnt make up for the deficiencies of a carb!!!!!! (not that I dont love carbs - I do!)
I am kind of fed up with RPI... they seem to say something totally different than what all other companies say, and just going on the numbers, I think they are usually wrong!

They sat one of these on my engine for some photos when I was down there last year - haven't seen it in their web site though.
They were trying to sell it to me as an LPG adapter which supposedly worked a lot better than some of the restrictive 'indside the air box' systems.
They were telling me that they had tried it extensively and it produced a lot more power than anything else they have every seen, but I do wonder about it producing more power in petrol mode than my 14 x 3" pankake filter? Can't see it personally.
Unless it was hooked up to some sort of ram system and fed cold air into the carb.

Well I might be more inclinded to believe them if they had forged some dyno figures.
also, a cheaper method of achieving the same thing is to fix some air ducting tube over the carb mouth and then duct that to some cold air, like i have on mine... the air filter sits on the bonnet in a scoop.... lovely cool air feeds the engine.
cant seem to get the gallery for my garage to display pics, but there should be some in my gallery. everyones elses pics are displaying, but not mine.
