Cool, thankyou, will do, my choice would be the PDSA, but if there is something more personal to you, let me know when i grab your address details for the courier. If you want it once I take it off the car you can arrange a courier to pick it up and its yours. I don't want anything for it but if you feel generous donate what you think its worth to a charity.
Still learning on all this stuff, didnt even know the plates existed to change the shift pattern to suit different boxes.

Speaking to my local American parts supplier, he has suggested making a list from the Summit site which he will order for me. It would be charged at $1=£1 plus 10% plus VAT. Seems ok to me but am i missing something?
Cheers,
Paul
Sometimes i ask myself, why do i bother? Then she starts up and everything becomes clear.....

Shifter wise, is there any reason why i could not adapt this as i believe the P38 Range Rovers have 3 gears plus drive?

Took me ages to locate a chevy bolt pattern one - I was going to replace my 700r4 with it, but I think the 700r4 got wind of the threat of replacement and has stopped breaking every 500 miles! So my early 4L80e has sat on the shed floor since then.Lawrence wrote:Sorry to hijack this thread, but any ideas where I can get a late 4L80 in the UK Eliot?
Jaguar XJ12's used them although with a different bolt pattern - there is a theory that you can cut the bellhousing off and fit an JW Ultra Bell to it to essentially make it fit on any engine. Contact John Sleath Race cars about it.
I have a ZF 5HP24 also sat on my shedfloor also, which was a spare for my BMW 540 - but I've sold the car - so that's available if you fancy some engineering.
Ah. I have an early one or a late 4L60e that I can stick behind my 2002 6 litre LQ4, can't update the internals to run it all of the stock computer it seems. Bit concerned how a 4L60e will hold up as I've killed the 3/4 bands on 3 of them now, and it's not going to like a twin turbo setup (yes, I'm following in your footsteps!)
Well I'm getting the 700R4 to hold up to twin turbo now - see my website for the details.Lawrence wrote:Ah. Sadly I've done a set of Alto clutches, and a set of Raybestos ones! Kevlar band, corvette servo, you name it, it's in there. Only ever done the clutches tho (oh and a solenoid, but that's more down to them being 1995 ish vintage). I think lighter cars, and lighter shoes are the answerEliot wrote:Well I'm getting the 700R4 to hold up to twin turbo now - see my website for the details.Lawrence wrote:Ah. I have around 200 psi line pressure for high load 2-3 changes.
No problems at all
Turbos
Now youve got me thinking!
Cheers,
Paul

Turbos

Thankyou, would like to take you up on that offer, let me know how you would like to sort it, i could arrange a courier, or send a cheque/Paypal?Eliot wrote:Range rovers used a ZF box - so not sure.
I have a Jaguar shifter that was used with a 4L80e - which should also work with the 4l60 as well - yours for cost of postage.
Cheers,
Paul

Yep, pretty sure it had the sonnax pump in there when they went too. It was in my 68 Camaro so I guess it's a lot heavier than yours. Did 30 odd thousand miles in it of mostly motorway so it had a lot of 6000rpm changes under it's beltEliot wrote: Raybestos Z-Pack?
