You sure that's not lbs rather than kgs? 1/4 ton seems rather a lot!

Yeah I think 230kg sounds abit heavy :!:
I would say it was just a good 2 man lift as me and my brother lifted one into/out of a landrover, then carried it down my garden to the shead by the header pipes :wink:

230lbs I think is about 104kg which sounds more like it to me

P.s It was heavy though :lol:

Hi,

I've a book of V8 engine data & weights, and it's showing the Buick 215 (RV8) engine as weighing in at 318 lbs .

This doesn't seem too far away , as already stated, it's a heavy two man lift.

I looked on the wikipedia site & they say its about 170kg, and the V8church website say about 320lb which is about 145kg :? :? :? :? But they also put a little note about the weight being- "Approx, will vary depending upon nature of ancillaries fitted. "

Could be that weight with every conceivable ancillary on the engine which you wouldn't be running anyway. Even then I think RPI have it wrong. I would say in normal trim its around the 145-150KG. A 302 is 210-220KG with starter carb and alternator. There will always be variations in engine weight depending what you have bolted onto the engine.

The short block I now weighs 80Kgs. I took the PRI 230Kgs figure to include everything and I mean everything, transmission and all.

Width = 26'
Length = 28'
Height = 27'

Note: Approx, will vary depending upon nature of ancillaries fitted.
