fuel pump question

Hi Guys,

i have found an in tank fuel pump to run my supercharged 3.9, will this type of pump unit be suitable for my conversion?

rimmer bros number ESR3926

Is it just the pump you need, or a complete carrier assembly with reservoir etc ?

Most pumps designed for a multipoint injected engine will be able to supply all the pressure you would ever need.

But some of their flow abilites are lacking.

What sort of power are you expecting to make ?

And holy sh....it isnt cheap either.

Unless you need that entire assembly, why not just buy a pump ??

What are the details of your intended setup, baring in mind any efi pump requires a good, clean supply of fuel, that wont be interupted by slosh etc.

well the pump i have found is second hand and local.

but the web site you have found makes me wonder if i should get new.The pump will fit into my extended mini van tank, does it fit into a baffled tank base of some sort?

i was going to make a new top flange to mount this on and seal that to the tank top metalwork.This will get me new flow and return pipes all ready fitted in one go.

I have looked at a seperate tank to run the efi from but i have no room to fit it.

Why not an inline fuel pump?

Saves the hassle of in tank mounting

In tank will be fine. But one way or another, there must be some form of baffle or collector in place so the pump never sees air.

If you're still running a carb you might just get away with it, but for efi, if it sees air for even a second, the engine will falter from lack of fuel supply.
