Just wondering the differences in the many RV8 motors that have been produced over the years. The main reason is that im wanting to upgrade engine at some stage from 3.5l to a larger capacity. The main things i want to know are engine mounting, exhaust positioning, front engine covers being interchangeable. Proberly be looking at installing a 4.6 so keen to know how much would need to be changed to make it work. Converting to injection is no problem.....
Cheers guys
3.5 vs 3.9 vs 4.6 ect

Engine mounts / exhausts are all interchangeable.
Front covers are interchangeable to a certain extent. It depends on crankshaft as the nose got longer to accomodate the later crank-driven oil pump.
You can fit an early cover to a long-nose crank, but I'm not sure about the other way around.
Chris.
