Thanks for all the replies chaps.
Original plan was to get it all back together on points and then fit Pertronix/Aldon. (Probably prefer these over the Lumenition as it all fits inside the cap with no separate module). So I went for the uprated oil pump kit with original slotted gear shaft.
But I reckon now the vac diaphragm is probably perished. My lungs are not in their prime

, but sucking on the pipe pulls some air & doesn't move the baseplate.
So I thought maybe something like
this?
I could convert the new uprated gear to the later type:
(P6 gear v SD1)
and fit a new coil and 12V feed. Got a feeling the tacho would need converting as well though.
Or get a working 35D8...
