what would be best?

Post by rousecapri »

hi
am in process of doing a rover v8 conversion to my mk3 capri

i have several 3.5 lt engines
have been offered a 3.9 efi
would i be best to run the 3.9 with efi or with a holley
it will be getting tubular exhaust manifolds and fast road cam.manual 5 speed gearbox.

holley or efi :?

For ease of setup
Edelbrock / Weber 500
Next Holley 390 (but will be a bit restricted at full throttle)
Then EFi - it is possible but if electronics are not your thing then I'd advise against it.

Being fairly new to engine maintenance (and working in IT) I only really understand EFI. Tuning carbs is too much of an "experience" thing. I can make a carb engine run, but running perfectly??

Reading numbers off a laptop and making adjustments is much easier :D
