Hmm.. very nice car, i believe i've seen it featured in one of the mags at some stage. Given the obvious good workmanship on the car, the high spec motor and the fact that the vendor has zero feedback i think a degree of caution wouldn't be out of place here. If its all kosher then someones gonna get a good deal for sure, seems a little too good to be true for my liking tho!

I am sure that has been on ebay before. You cant bid on the car unless you get a bidder number from the seller. I would think its either a scam,or the seller is telling the prospective buyers how much he will accept. If they dont agree they dont get a bidder number and then he can pull the car anytime. I would say with that amount of work done to the standard it seems to be, he will be looking for about 10 grand.

Hi
a while ago on Ebay I saw a chevy ally block and rebuild kit with Brodix heads etc from a very low rated seller (about 3 transactions all 100% ok), looked to be on for a good price (not "too good to be true" but good price) so I bid, missed it by about £150 after a bit of a last minute bidding battle. I thought nothing of it until ebay's security people got in touch closley followed by paypal..... never got to the bottom of what was going on but I am now carefull of bidding on items from low rated sellers, normally set a minimum of about 50 rating. Just carefull.

The car is in my hometown, Stafford, so I thought it'd be worth a bid just to see what sort of money he was expecting, as there is no reserve or opening bid.

Then I noticed the 'approved bidders only' bit.

Smells fishy to me. The £3450 has been added in the last day or two, as it wasn't there when I first checked it out.

The buy it jow price wasnt on there when I looked at it. For that sort of price it would be a real bargain.

If he's not a scammer he's trying to save money by not paying for 'reserve or buy-it-now' listing charges.

If Ebay spot what he's doing they'll pull it!

I would agree, he isn't even close on some of his text. I mailed him to get on the bidding list this morning and haven't heard anything yet. Not that I want the car but I was curious to see if I would hear anything from him.

He had approx 8900 views but no bidders.

Car was allegedly built by Hauser Race Cars but they only seem to advertise drag and funny cars but then what do I know?

Kev it could well have been built by Hauser, he has considerable experience with the 2-door sierra shell. Nearly 20 years ago now Geoff built a 2-door sierra that ran 8's. At the time the original cossie sierra was a big hit so Geoffs car got plenty of publicity. It was a landmark car and really put Geoff on the map.

IM 99% sure this has run in Street Eliminator 04/05 (or at least it looks a hell of a lot like it!)
