Engine proof of age letter

Post by mk1storm »

Hi guys,

Has anyone requested one of these recently for SVA etc to prove engine age?

I had a contact address for the heritage centre but that was a long time ago and I'm not sure if it's still the right place.

I don't really want to send off a letter with a cheque in it if it's not right.

Cheers,
Gary.

Hi Gary
Yesterday, i went to see my local SVA examiner, to ask what he wanted as proof of engine age, he had a book that gave him year/month by engine number.
It might be worth giving him a call to see what he wants.

I had the £15 letter and the SVA were happy with that to date the engine

Gary, did you ever take up Stu's suggestion and Stu; how can your examiner be contacted?; 8-)

My mate has obtained the same letter this year, although yet to try it yet as he's still dieting to get into the car (westy)..

I just turned up at the test centre, to ask a couple of questions, i'd try ringing Vosa and see what they say.
I'll be seeing him again, as we failed the SVA this week :(
