Hopefully new springs will solve it, thankfully no damage it appears.

springs arrived today from Paul at V8Tuner, along with new stem seals and woodruff key for the cam,

Image

hope to have the heads rebuilt this weekend,
that will be another job ticked off,

still lots more to do though :-(

any one know any cheaper places than trigger wheels to get a crank sensor and plug,
and coil pack plugs from?

and now need to find a way to raise some funds to get the fuel lines sorted
i ripped the old ones out at crimbo as was going to order the braided lines etc,
but due to my work situation thats now a bit of a problem
ever get the feeling you wish you left things alone until needed

Tone,

I may have a spare sensor that you can have. I'll check at the weekend.

Cheers,

Ian

Tony,

See your using the same DW060 springs as before, there the same as the Real Steel ones, in fact their part No.

I'm wondering with your experience with the previous set whether they are up to the lift of the crower cams, my 50232 has about the same lift as your one and I was a little concerned at the failure of a couple of your springs after relatively little usage.

Has anyone any experience of the inner damper springs used by some builders, they are like a flat coil thnner in section than a traditional coil but thicker in height, difficult to describe but those who have seen them will know what I mean, It looks like they may fit inside the standard outer spring and not require machining of the guide bosses.

yeah i have seen them before mate,

yes im using the same springs again,
reason being,
the failure may of been down to me not installing them at the correct installed height, so going to try again,
V8tuner use these springs with the 50233 cam too,

we will see what happens this time

none at present mate as it needs to come off to remove the tape from inlet ports on heads.
but i usually use a light smear but use a good size bead where the rubbers meet the head face
