The pumps I've taken apart seem to have very little wear. but can't answer how long they last. also I've not fitted my SPA digital oil pressure gauge to see what pressure im getting from my S/H one.

Your need a 3.9 Cam not a 4.0 as your need the dissy drive.
This gives you a lot more choices, as there are a lot less choices with the 4.0 cams DJE do custom ones for dissy-less engines. can't report on how it runs yet do to HT problems.

Sorry that question wasnt because of mistrust but because I have seen the state of an old one that I took apart!!! Thanks for that about the cams, do I really need to worry about duplex when my oil pump will be crank driven (so must be a LOT less strain on the chain)? Bearing in mind how many engines are still going from factory fitted...! Obviously get rid of the nylon gear tho...

I would still change the chain, and maybe put a heavy duty one in, as all the covers I've seen have had marks on them where the chain has rubbed.

Problem is there still does not seem to be many people using the new covers to get much data.
