Rover V8 to 2WD R380

Hi,

To be honest I'm totally new to most of this but I do have a question (I'm sorry if this has been answered to death already but I have been looking for ages now). If I had a Rover V8 from either a land rover or range rover (specifically the 3.5 and 3.9 versions) what would I have to do to run it through the 2WD R380 gearbox, is it a direct fit of will some changes have to be made?

you will have to change the flywheel and clutch to 2wd stuff other than that its a direct fit providing you get a v8 R380.

I have fitted an R380 to a 3.5RV8. Bought a recon box, but had to have the input pinion changed - I think the one I bought was originally from a Sherpa Van and the pinion was too long.
