Its the Hyfire..

When I was using the Crane Hi6, some time ago....it also interfered with TV reception, although I dont think it was as bad as that. Didnt have many neighbours though.


Why are you using non resistor plugs ? Every single bit of info I have ever read, says they should always be used on modern cars, to reduce electrical interference, which can be vital given the electronics in cars now ( ecu's etc )

Ive used resistor plugs for as long as I can remember, and never even considered using anything different.

So, a method of making big sparks then?

The original radio transmitters were based on spark gaps. Lots of wide band noise! It is what Marconi first used. With non resistive leads then, perhaps, it is not surprising you are causing problems. If you want me to take a listen then just let me know. I'll trade you for a bit of V8 wisdom.

Again, the very reason behind resistor plugs and leads etc, is for interference suppression.

If TV's etc are getting screwed up by it, I cant imagine your own car's ecu etc is having fun either.
Although with these CDI ignitions, it seems you may never eliminate all of it.

mines now cured,
ditched the hyfire,

gone coil packs and resisited plugs so far all is ok gain :P
