DISCOVERY V8I

hello chaps i got a problem i got a discovery 3.9 on a m reg with cats its just had new cam and chain and cogs and tappets and new head gaskets
and to me it feels slow well not alot grant, my rangerover on a h plate non cat had more bulls then disco has i just cant get my head around how slow the disco is really its all been timed up rite and all seems to be lovely revs bloody well just need some help on what esle it could be really i just had a thought it could be toque converter as its auto and the revs seem to be a bit higher then the rangerover was at the same speed, in the disco at 30-35 the revs are at 2500rpm oh well i have a god think and if anyone could help me that be greatfull thanks

Justin,

Was the camshaft that you had fitted the standard Rover one?

How does the engine sound when running? Is it quiet and smooth?

If you think it might be the transmission, how does the fluid look and smell?

hello mate the cam is a normal 3.9 cam thats what i brought and the engine sounds bloody lovely runs smooth as anything, the fuild is still a lite red color and smells the same as atf and not burnt so i dont know really am lost lol,,

collapsed cat converters? Wouldnt be the first time.

didnt think of that i get a little rattle from down the drivers side when she is cold she past the emissons on the mot i was going to put a normal set of downpipes and y peace to see what happpens then thanks for your help!!
