Cresta PA with contemporary Rover V*

I am new to this game but I am thinking about putting a V8 into a late model Cresta PA. How feasible is an early Rover V8. I want to keep it as contemporary with the age of the cresta as possible. I am looking for the 50's look with a V8 sound that isn't 20 feet long. I do know that Vauxhall used to put V8's in the PAs for foreign markets.
