Head Info Please

Post by johnwp5bcoupe »

Can anyone tell me if these will be hardend seats or not I have been given them to possibly go on my 1969 Coupe if I go LPG  they came off a RR year unknown casting ERC 0216. I read the info on the board there is no info under the rocker shafts :( I would have to have the holes next to the exhaust outlets welded up to make them look right if I use them 8)

My compliments on a splendid restoration

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I really enjoyed looking through your restoration photos and it seems only proper to offer the congratulations such a thorough job deserves. One gorgeous P5B Coupe, a credit to you, provides me with much needed inspiration to keep on with my own time-consuming P5B rebuild.

I have heard conflicting comments on this subject. I've seen somewhere that all heads are OK for unleaded, but elsewhere I did see a cutoff at some point.

However, those heads are fairly recent as the holes are for emissions stuff. Therefore I would use them for unleaded.

You're welcome to take a look if you need to.

Like the P5B, nice motor.

Thanks Chris I missed a box at our local scrapyard last month sadly he did send it for scrap :( I gather it is the best retro fit for the P5b.
