Rover V8 Inlet manifold Instrument pack temp thermistor.

Recently bought a second hand hotwire injection system and have found that there is a small sensor adjacent to the water temp sensor on the inlet manifold with only one wire going to it. Managed to find out that it is a "Instrument pack temp. thermistor", can anyone tell me what this is for/does.

temp gauge? I take it the other one your on about has two wires and is for the fuel injection itself?

Yes, the other one is for the injection system, and now you say, its obvious to be the temp gauge sensor (why did I not see that?).
