Would boring a 3.9 block the usual 20thou make it more likely in the future to develop the slipped liner problem?

I believe the liner slippage is mainly in the 4.0 and 4.6 blocks, not the 3.9.
From what I understand the main cause is running a marginal design with too lean a mixture and as a result overheating the engine under general running conditions.
As the a large part of the failuye is down to the fuel system and the running temp of the engine then (and to some extent the larger gurnal size of the 4.0 and 4.6 resulting in the block being too stiff in some places and to flexable in others) the thickness of the sleeve is should not be significant, so I would bore away.
