Hi again.
Got my Holley 390 bolted to the Offenhauser onto my RV8 engine.
Turned key & it turns over but doesnt want to start. Checked there is fuel supply to the carb, there is, at 4.5psi (Red Top - Filterking - carb). Poured some fuel direct into the carb from the top & it fires & runs but only as long as the fuel thats been poured in.
Can anyone pinpoint the problem please?
Holley setup/running problems - can u help?

Took the fuel feed pipe off the carb fuel inlet & there was fuel there. Not sure how to check if there is anything at the acccelerator pump? Took the sight screw out but wasnt sure what I was checking for & how do you best use the adjusting screw?
Its a used carb which came with the Offenhauser which had been on a RV8.

Open and close the throttle with the air cleaner removed. If there is fuel in the carb you should be able to see the fuel being squirted from the pump discharge nozzles.BudgieV8 wrote:Not sure how to check if there is anything at the acccelerator pump?
Have you got auto or manual choke? Have you tried pumping the accelerator 3-4 times before starting?
Jeff
Tried pumping to achieve the choke but no go.
Took the primary fuel bowl off today & cleaned out every hole I could find. Re-assembled & still the same problem.
Checked the accel pump thing & there is no fuel being sprayed in via the spray nozzles. How do I get to them to clean them out?
