Valley gasket

Post by Chorlton »

Put a new valley gasket on the beast yesterday before fitting the replacement manifold (Offy Dual Plane)
Had a problem with one of the brackets that hold down the valley gasket at either end.
The forward one just wont fit between the two sides of the manifold. The rear one is ok and I tried switching them but no joy.
Tried moving the manifold about a tad but still no luck.
Would it be OK to grind a little off to make it fit? Daft question I know but there could be other reasons not to?
