Rover V8 engine oil temperature sender location.

Hello all,

Do you think the best position for monitoring engine oil temperature would be to place the sender into one of the spare plugs screwed into the camshaft driven oil pump?

My thinking is that the oil at that point would better represent the working temperature, rather than measuring the temperature of the oil sitting at the bottom of the sump via a sump plug sender.

Personally I would rather have it in the sump as that's your reservoir and if that gets too hot your stuffed.
