Andy,
Thats great thanks, the vertical dimension is perfect at 44mm. and the width will only need a slight increase.
Interested to here about your MX5 4.6 I'm hoping to use Hotwire with an alternative ECU such as Megasquirt. perhaps I can pick your brains to get me going in the right direction once the engine is sorted. I can use the carb for the time being.

I can't really claim any expert level of knowledge as I'm not really into the actual Megasquirt bit yet! We will be tackling the toothed wheel and VR sensor install in the next week or two which to be honest is a part of the journey with "here be dragons" marked on the map
I do understand that one of the big advantages of an aftermarket system (Megasquirt and others) is that you can ditch the aif flow meter and use the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure to work out what the engine needs fuel wise instead, and that this can be worth a 10% power gain. My take is its one less thing to go wrong
Ask away, I'll help where I can and I'm sure other peeps here will be happy to give advice too!
The build of the car has a website detailing the build here:

I have to take my hat of to Bob, its definitely not something I could have undertaken.
