It's a roller cam .... The performer heads were bought initially for the 383. I checked with RS and they reckon they should be OK, so keep my fingers crossed.

I know that I'm probably making problems for myself with the tunnel ram, but bear in mind this is an open engined 'rod ... once you've seen it sitting there in the engine bay .. all good sense goes out the window ...

The point is, katanman was happy to talk about his scimitar in the MGB LS1 thread where neither the chassis nor the engine were relevent.
I didnt get shirty about it because it doesnt actually matter.

Although, I think it's a bit two faced to call me out on the same thing...

Do as I say not as I do?

Hello
Sir you misunderstand me.. the best reason for sticking a tunnel ram on a 427 small block is it looks the dogs 8) . My only concern is that when you have done it you can drive the thing. Can't think of anything more dull than a dual plane manifold with a single four barrel though it would probably have loverly road manners. I'm considering a tunnel ram for mine, but with two four barrel roller throttles and injection, if I can't make up a Lucas style individual throttle body set up.
Have you the catalog number for the cam?

Mike,

Not 100% sure of the catalogue number of the cam as I have gone with whatever RS suggest as they came up with the spec. I've got to ring them tomorrow for a progress report so will try to get it then.

The 383 ran perfectly on a dual plane and an Edelbrock 750 but looked a bit lacking in the engine bay..... on the other hand I may just go down the 1 carb route but put the hood and sides back on so no one can see what it is running .. until they see the rear axle dissapearing

Your idea of a tunnel ram and injection is something I thought of exploring .... you'll have to keep us posted of you go down that route...

Pretty engine bay, but your right it would look much better with a tunnel ram and a brace of carbs.
