Currently rebuilding a Mk 1 (1963) Humber Sceptre and installing a Rover V8 - long way to go yet!

Much respect dude,the Sceptre was the first "custom car" i ever knew,a guy at the end of my road had one with an RV8 and wolfrace mags..man i was smitten there an then :lol: been lying on the driveway ever since :?

Space is actually very tight either side of the engine - I'm not looking forward to making the manifolds and finding room for the steering column....

My mate has a Mk1 sceptre as his everyday car (has been 4 the last 15 yrs) he looked at a rover in it but the chassis rails sit up high and close in and and u sed make manifolds very hard and the draglink that runs across the bulkhead an issue, will be intersting to c how this turns out. :D

As for the steering - the old box will be ditched in favour of a rack which will free up some space and solve the drag link problem...

A short Sherpa Van remote would have solved your gear lever position problem, I think I remember seeing one on e-bay and there may even be one in the for sale section of this board.

I know someone who has one of those gear stick thingys , it hink he has the stick too ..i can ask how much he wants for it if you like ?
remember it's only a bodge if it DOSN'T worK

The gear lever will be replaced with a shortened remote - working on that at the mo...
