katanaman wrote:Don't quote me on this but I think what your looking for is 1.4kw. I haven't actually seen a 4x4 one that isn't high torque but some of the older ones might be I guess. There is a post on the old forum with all the part numbers and ratings about roughly 2 years ago. Me and Russell ram were part of it as well as others. What I can remember is the 4.0 4.6 ones are guaranteed to be ok.

JC its more than just the torque they are about half the weight and a good bit smaller in comparison to the SD1 ones.
just been on the old forum Marki, and can't find that post, got a few pages coming up as errors, bet thats one that i want

is any one else interested in one of these starters?
as i will see if i can get them cheaper, i will also ask for the starter dimensions, as thinking about going for the smaller one of the two now.

I had the Bosch style starter in my engine, bought new April 2006. It let go June 2007, and yes, there were about 100 small plastic pieces inside. It used to be the annulus... I got a spare for free from the autoelectic shop that sold it to me. It´s easy to fix.

I can measure the starter if someone wants the dimensions. I bought a modified Nippondenso from British starters because I did not have full confidence in the repaired starter. If it fails one, it can fail twice...
