Fuel Pump

Post by Muttleys V8 »

I have a 5L Rover V8 Westfield, problem I have is that the fuel pump only works when I reconnect the battery, if I switch off the engine, leave it a while and then restart it, the fuel pump does not kick in and the engine will not start.

Any ideas?

Steve

What sort of pump is it? My guess would be to fit a new one. Or if it is an 'interrupter' type, have a check for dirty contacts or whatever they have.

Is this a fresh fault or has the problem just occoured, if it is from new build perhaps you have picked the wring lwg on the relau or wrong type of relay, where it should be wired to the normally open,NO, you may have them wired to the Normally closed
