The golden rule of running an RV8 has not been mentioned;
ALWAYS USE GENUINE LAND ROVER ROTOR ARM AND DIZZY CAP.

Now the rotor is genuine, but not the cap. Next time that goes I'll invest £30 and get a propper one.
All I can say now having driven it to work yesterday is "oh my god"!
It can be used as an auto in 3rd gear around town - just dump the clutch in and it pulls away, and will run at under 200 rpm on load with no trouble.
It's freakin' incredible!
No more mis-fires, no more jerking at low RPM, no more chinging gear for long hills, and it runs 10*C cooler too - result all round

Rover 3.5 V8 landy - Completely rebuilt and purring... Now awaiting a good tune!!
I bought a spare dizzy cap from Partco, made from some blue soggy plastic, with about 1mm clearance to the dizzy flange, so it can me wobbled around when in place. Absolute garbage, not much use for anything, apart from as an ashtray, if I smoked.The Original Tom wrote:Now the rotor is genuine, but not the cap.
