Rover engine in a Stag - I need bonnet clearance urgently

Post by russ spake »

Hi,

I need to buy urgently either modified SU carbs, or a webber/edelbrock/offenhauser combination to create sufficient clearance to fit a standard Triumph bonnet on my Stag which has a Rover V8 installed - anyone know where I can buy the kit? Thanks. Russ

Russ
RPI do a Edelbrock Dual plane manifold with the Webber 500 carb, Mr Gasket 2" filter.
This is low as I know. I have them on the MGB.

Rover engine into Stag.

Take a look on Ebay there is a chap selling a SU setup on a standard rover manifold. The dashpots have been modified in that they have been chopped down professionally to reduce their height. He wants £75

Hi, Thanks for the reply, missed the chopped down SUs and been away a lot recently. Anyway, does anyone know where I can get the Carbs on my engine chopped down to provide sufficient clearance to put a standard bonnet on my Stag? Russ.

2 easy options to you are cutting down a standard manifold I'll forward some stuff I sent someone else to your e-mail, it's a bit basic but you will get the idea.
Yes it's a Porsche and yes, it should sound like that!
